Case Studies & Projects

The Work

I look at the problem holistically. Find the things that need connecting and fixing, then build a long term solution.

Every project here started with a problem. Here is how I solved them.

FastParts Search Engine

The problem: five siloed databases that nobody could search at once

330,000 cross-references. 2,400 Harley models. Exploded diagrams linking directly to parts. A unified search engine that pulled descriptions, images, fitment records and cross-references into one place, all pivoting on part number.

Christmas Photo Booth System

The problem: Santa photos create a staff bottleneck at the worst possible time

A mobile web app that decoupled the photo from the data collection entirely. Staff take branded photos through the browser, hand a QR code to the customer, and move on. The customer claims their photos on their own phone. Zero queue. Branded output. Contact data captured automatically.

HarleyVIN.com

The problem: customers couldn't find the right parts for their specific bike

A VIN decoder that goes beyond identification. Enter a VIN and the system decodes the exact model, year and specification, then feeds directly into parts search and fitment lookup. Built as an email capture gateway, turning a lookup tool into a marketing asset.

RelicTag.com

The problem: metal detectorists had no simple way to tag and identify their finds

A free QR code label maker built for the metal detecting community. All data encoded client-side in base64url URL fragments, bypassing Apple iOS QR restrictions entirely. No database. No login. No cost to the user. Decode endpoint at qr-decode.org. Built and promoted into the community from scratch.
